It's a good question: Why should you consider the Worldwide Church of God (WCG) in Glendora as a church home? Our pastor said it best: This church has a track record of caring and sharing. The brethren have been there for people and rally around when there is a need either financially, morally or for prayers. You can't say much better about a church than that.
Since Feburary 2001 we have been sharing accommodations with the Glendora Friends Church. It has been a blessed and profitable experience for both congregations.
The Glendora WCG is a friendly group of some 60 people who have a long tradition of generosity and enthusiasm for the Gospel work.
From our local food bank program to overseas mission support, Glendora has been there! From the National Day of Prayer to Martin Luther King Day, this congregation has been interested in making an impact on the local community. We support Bible distribution in Bangladesh and in Americas prisons. We participate in racial reconciliation through the WCGs Office of Reconciliation Ministries and we feature a Hispanic Heritage Day once a year at or near Cinco de Mayo. We help finance Little Lights Orphanage in India.
In short, we are a multi-racial congregation growing in the grace and favor of the Lord. Some of our members marched with Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King in the Montgomery Bus Boycott while others toured Europe courtesy of the United States Army. In our midst are graduates of Fuller Seminary, Azusa Pacific University, Yale, the University of Toronto and Ambassador University.
Neil and Susan Earle pastor the church assisted by a capable and experienced team of elders and deacons. The Earles have been in pastoral ministry for more than 37 years and have worked in 14 church areas across North America.
Our worship services feature blended music, presented by our praise band, Country Gospel Band, visiting Black Gospel and Orchestral groups. The messages are relevant and Bible-based.
Our Childrens Ministry reaches young people in a very active program of dedicated education and activities. Teen activites are calling to us more strongly again after a period of watching some of our best go on to Yale, USC and other big schools. We occasionally sponsor youth outings to see the Ducks and the Angels historically, teens have helped in our fundraisers working shoulder to shoulder with adults.
Our Womens Ministry is a tight-knit group of ladies who meet every month for mutual support and edification under Rose Neumann and are active participants in regional and international women's seminars."
We are overjoyed at the use of the Friends Church sanctuary and invite you to come out and see us soon. You'll find directions and a map on our Services page.
Since 2004 we have planted churches in the Inland Empire and at a senior's facility in San Dimas (see Pictures). These are excellent low-key training sessions for those called to ministry as well as vital service and support to individuals scattered across our area from Monrovia to Fontana. For example, our elders have performed almost two dozen baptisms and memorial services for people of many denominations through our Sunday church in San Dimas. We see reaching out as part of our vision for now and on into the future. Just call the number below for details.
